That was certainly my journey. It was hard for me to believe other people valued me. One part of me was screaming to be seen, heard and loved. The other part was pushing away praise, fearful they would see my dark, ugly insides. I am sure most people saw me as confident and strong but inside I was a scared child, afraid people would find out I wasn’t really worth it. Now how crazy was that?!
Many of us have a hidden belief that we aren’t valuable or worthy of love. We hide underneath a pile of busyness, doing things to distract us from the truth of nor loving ourselves. But really, how can you love yourself if you don’t know who you are? That is what I found out after 28 years of marriage. I didn’t know who I was.
